Zaha & Jean

Going through some old photography folders, I came across these 2013 images of the Institut du Monde Arabe (Arab World Institute), whose building, by Atelier Jean Nouvel, includes mesmerizing diaphragmatic openings in its facade that refer back to traditional Middle Eastern motifs. At the time of my visit, I was blessed to also see the late Zaha Hadid-designed Chanel's Mobile Art Pavilion, still the only building of hers I have had the opportunity to walk through. All in all, a delight. Difficult to imagine many stronger architectural pairings.
